Bright ruby. Black plum and licorice on the nose. Spicy if unrefined flavors of plum, currant, chocolate and tobacco.Offers good texture but comes across as a tad gritty and turns slightly dry on the finish.

The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard Select is an 800-case offering from the Beckstoffer vineyards, primarily To-Kalon. Classic notes of cedar and cassis emerge from this Pauillac-like Napa Cabernet. A sweet mid-palate, full body, beautiful purity, and a long, spicy, heady finish suggest it will drink well for 10-15 years or longer. As I have written before, Carolyn and Perry Butler have quickly made Juslyn one of the finest sources of top quality wine on Spring Mountain.
