All Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon NOMAD Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard comes from one of the great vineyards in the valley and spent 24 months in 95% new French oak. This deep purple-hued beauty offers up a beautiful perfume of ripe black cherry and cassis fruits as well as classy tobacco, new oak, cedar pencil, and violets, with some loamy earth and chocolate emerging with time in the glass. It's a classic 2018 on the palate and stays relatively focused and straight, with good concentration, ripe, polished tannins, and a wonderful sense of balance and purity. Give bottles another 3-5 years in the cellar, and it will evolve for another 20-25 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Nomad Beckstoffer's Dr. Crane Vineyard shows none of the charm that is such a signature of Dr. Crane Cabernets. Searing tannins and oxidative notes are concerning, to say the least.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Nomad Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane soars out of the glass with bright, vivacious blackcurrant jelly, black cherry preserves and mulberries scents, plus wafts of crushed rocks, cardamom, fragrant earth and violets. The medium to full-bodied palate shimmers with crunchy black fruits and red berry sparks, framed by taut, fine-grained tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and perfumed.
