A wine that needs 4-5 years in the cellar, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon NOMAD Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard offers up the classic darker, herbal, black fruits that always seem to characterize this vineyard as well as terrific notes of asphalt, tobacco, damp earth, and chocolate. It’s medium to full-bodied, has good structure, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. I’d like a touch more mid-palate depth, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this fill out with bottle age.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Nomad Beckstoffer's Georges III Vineyard shows at least some depth, if you can get past the heavy oak and torrefaction flavors. Angular contours are impossible to look past.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Nomad Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III opens a little broody, reluctantly offering charcoal and damp soil notes before unfurling to reveal a cassis, baked plums and aniseed core, plus a waft of dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly wound, delivering elegant fruit layers with a firm, grainy texture and lively line, finishing long and lifted.
