The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus is gorgeous. Dark, ample and sumptuous in the glass, the 2015 offers up an exotic mélange of black fruits, gravel, chocolate, espresso, incense and licorice. This is classic Calistoga in its flavor profile, structure and tannic build. I loved this wine on release, and I loved it today.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus from Turnbull's estate vineyard in Calistoga, is fabulous. Exuberant fruit and striking mid-palate richness give the wine much of its immediacy and sheer appeal. Today, the 2015 is naturally very primary, but it is both hugely delicious and promising. Lavender, licorice, black cherry, crème de cassis and plum explode onto the dramatic, baritone-inflected finish. What a gorgeous wine this is.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Amoenus Vineyard offers up crushed red and black plums, black currants and sawdust notes with hints of potpourri, forest floor and baking spices. Full, plush and rich, the palate is packed with spicy red and black fruits, with just enough freshness and great length.
