The 2014 Pinot Noir Reuling Vineyard offers good immediacy and up-front complexity, but then loses some persistence through the mid-palate and finish. Like all of the Sojourn wines, the Reuling Pinot is soft and medium in body. Sweet red berry, hard candy and sweet floral/spiced notes are the signatures.

The final Pinot, the 2014 Pinot Noir Reuling Vineyard comes from a high ridge situated between the old hippie villages of Forestville and Graton. This site was initially made famous by Mark Aubert for his wines. The lightest colored of the three Pinots (which are all made from heritage clones of California), this wine reveals baking spices, sweet pomegranate and cherry. It seems to me to be the most complex of the three Pinots, and its light color is in contrast to its flavor depth, which is outstanding. This is a broad, savory, seductive style of Pinot to drink over the next 5-6 years.
