Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2030, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016

The 2013 Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Vineyard comes from vines planted in volcanic soils that tend to be the last picked since it takes time to ripen. It was picked around 7 October after the September storm. It has a clean and quite pure bouquet with dark berry fruit, a touch of soy and dried leaves coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannin that render this quite stern and linear at the moment. It is perhaps missing some flesh, especially towards the finish, though it retains balance. I am sure it will age well and it may merit a higher score down the line.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2017-2023, Josh Raynolds, Oct 2015

Dark red. Complex, perfumed bouquet of fresh red berries, peppery spices and potpourri, with a hint of sassafras emerging with aeration. Juicy, incisive raspberry and bitter cherry flavors stretch out and become sweeter with air. Shows excellent clarity and lift on the persistent finish, which is firmed by harmonious tannins and a suggestion of cherry pit.
