Note di degustazione
The 2012 Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Vineyard comes from volcanic soils on an exposed, windy and cool site, to the point where Josh said he is never sure whether it will fully ripen. Naturally, it is the last to be harvested each year. It has a relatively light bouquet with red berries and wild hedgerow scents, subtle marine notes developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sour cherry and blackberry notes, slightly leafy in style (surprising for a 2012, though not disagreeable) with gentle firmness coming through on the masculine finish that seems as if there is some stem addition when there is actually none.

Vivid ruby. Complex, highly perfumed scents of dark berry liqueur, cola, sassafras and potpourri, with an undercurrent of smoky minerals adding lift. Offers palate-staining blackberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter and spicier with aeration, picking up a sexy rose pastille nuance and a hint of orange pith. Finishes rich, lively and precise, with outstanding power and length.
