Note di degustazione
Moving to the Bordeaux releases from this estate, the 2016 Range 30 West checks in as 62% Cabernet Franc and 38% Merlot that was raised 22 months in 50% new French oak. Plenty of cedary herbs, lead pencil, tobacco, and black cherry fruit notes give way to a medium to full-bodied effort that has fine tannins, plenty of mid-palate fruit, and a clean finish. It's going to keep for 8-10 years.

The 2016 Range 30 West, a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, is aromatically expressive and light on its feet, but also quite pungent, especially in its aromatics. Ideally, it would be nice to see a bit more freshness and depth. The blend is 62% Cabernet Franc and 38% Merlot. I would prefer to drink it over the next few years.
The 2016 Range 30 West is a blend of 57% Cabernet Franc and 43% Merlot. It has a medium ruby color and nose of blackcurrant bud, cigar box, cedar and spice with graphite hints over a core of dense blackcurrant, black cherries and black plum. Medium to full-bodied, it fleshes out a bit in the mouth to reveal red fruit notes, with ripe, grainy tannins and good freshness, finishing long with herbal hints.
