The Cabernet Sauvignon Dragon Vineyard is a gorgeous Howell Mountain Cabernet. Broad swaths of tannin provide the backbone as this deep, inky Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its personality. Black cherry, blueberry jam, graphite, smoke and dark spices nearly manage to bury the huge tannins that lurk beneath.

Another addition to the range, Turley's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Dragon Vineyard is hugely promising. Graphite, lavender, crushed rocks, plums and savory herbs are all shaped by firm, searing tannins. Smoke, licorice and menthol appear later, adding nuance as this huge, explosive Howell Mountain Cabernet shows off its considerable personality. Readers will have to be patient with the 2013. This is an impressive debut from Turley.
