2020 L'Aventure Inspiracion

Inspired by the wines of Priorat, the 2020 Inspiracíon is a blend of 49% Grenache, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah and 6% Grenache Blanc that balances bright, juicy fruit with savory, rustically styled undertones. Medium ruby-purple, it features pretty scents of black cherry candy, blueberry preserves, garrigue, leather and cured meats. The palate is full-bodied yet light on its feet with rounded, approachable tannins and bright bursts of refreshing acidity pulling out citrus and spice tones on the long, layered finish.

Quite racy and rich nose with dried strawberries, asphalt and black raspberries. Firm yet polished tannins proceed in a linear set, going all the way through to the end with lovely sweet fruit. Full-bodied and quite long. 49% grenache, 32% cabernet sauvignon, 13% syrah and 6% grenache blanc co-fermented. Drink or hold.

A co-fermented blend of 49% Grenache, 32% Cabernet, 13% Syrah, and the rest Grenache Blanc, the 2020 Inspiracion is a more tannic, structured, medium to full-bodied effort offering solid notes of ripe red and blue fruits as well as lavender, candied violets, and peppery spice. This pretty, elegant, yet still concentrated 2020 will keep for a decade. I was able to look at the 2020s and 2021s from L’Aventure, both solid vintages. In fact, they might have made some of the best wines in Paso in 2020, and the wines are impressive across the board.
