Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2018-2043, Jeb Dunnuck, Oct 2018

The 2015 Nocturne is one of the best examples of this variety going (it’s 100% Petit Verdot) and it spent two years in 50% new 300- and 400-liter barrels. It’s a rich, mouthfilling, medium to full-bodied effort that boasts a saturated purple color, notes of blueberries, leafy herbs, vanilla bean, and espresso, good acidity, and ample length. This is a notoriously difficult variety to stand alone, but Matthias has pulled it off beautifully. It will probably keep for 2-3 decades.

The 2015 Nocturne (100% Petit Verdot) is a deep, unctuous red. Blackberry jam, graphite, game, smoke, licorice and juniper berry notes are all given an extra kick of textural richness. Deep, richly-layered and expressive, the 2015 has a lot to offer. This is another compelling and deeply personal wine from Mattias Pippig.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2018-2022, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

Inky ruby-black in hue, the 2015 Nocturne wafts from the glass with notes of ripe cassis, plum compote, spring flowers and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and ample, carrying a considerabe payload of fine tannin and buttressed by juicy acids, but it's also quite ripe and heady, with a firm, chewy finish. I'd be inclined to drink this Petit Verdot bottling in its exuberant youth.
