2005 Del Dotto Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard 887 Connoisseurs' Series

(from young vines in the southern portion of St. Helena) Good deep red-ruby. Liqueur-like aromas of coffee, mocha, game, minerals and oak, with fruit in the background. Flavors of black cherry, tar and menthol show a juicy quality that reminded me of sangiovese. Finishes with broad, sweet, oak-influenced tannins and very good freshness.
