Note di degustazione
Aromatics of chocolate liqueur, cedar and bourbon carry into a palate of dusty tannins and brown herbs with balancing acidity and a long finish. The aromatic presentation is more about winemaking and barrel but the varietal characteristics and dusty iron notes of the region do start to show on the palate. Dark-fruit notes appear with some air but so do other barrel notes of toasted caramel and spice. (ECB)

The 2012 Ardore, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards in Coombsville, is rich, dark and boisterous, with tons of depth and pure concentration. Dark red and black stone fruit, cedar, smoke, licorice and leather flesh out in a powerful huge wine built on fruit and exuberance. The finish is textured and enveloping.
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Ardore (100% Cabernet Sauvignon), which is their top cuvée at least from a price standpoint, is rich as it sees a lot of high-quality new oak, especially Darnajou and Taransaud barrels. Deep purple, with notes of charcoal, burning embers, blackcurrants, sweet toast and licorice, the wine is full-bodied, has terrific fruit and should drink well for at least another 15+ years.
