2009 Piña Cabernet Sauvignon Ames Vineyard

(15%; from a vineyard on Oakville's eastern hillside): Rather exotic, slightly high-toned aromas and flavors of black raspberry, truffle, nutmeg and flowers. Plush and pliant in the mouth, but with peppery acidity and a light saline character framing the thoroughly ripe flavors. Most impressive on the long, aromatic finish, which features very fine, harmonious tannins.
