Good red-ruby. Slightly rustic aromas of raspberry, currant, brown spices and leather. Delivers a nice combination of black fruits and brisk acidity. On the lean side but offers good cut and should provide early drinkability.

Bright, deep red. Aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice. Juicy, supple and sweet if a bit lacking in nuance. Shows good intensity but finishes slightly tart.
The 2013 Marsannay Villages comes from parcels located within the three villages of the appellation. It has a lifted bouquet of macerated red cherries, wild strawberry and just a touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with quite rounded plump tannins that lend this Marsannay width and girth. It is nicely balanced, but cuts away a little abruptly on the finish. This should drink well over the next three or four years.
