Note di degustazione
The 2005 Pinot Noir “Elizabeth’s Reserve” is better balanced. It has a fragrant nose of smoke, toast, red cherry, and raspberry. It also sports a racy, medium-bodied personality with uplifting acidity, bright red fruits, and well-integrated tannin. Drink it over the next 6 years. Adelsheim Vineyard was founded in 1971 and the winery’s first vintage was in 1978. David Adelsheim remains in charge as the winery has expanded into a new winery and planted more vineyard in the Chehalem Mountain AVA. In addition to Pinot Noir, the winery produces a bevy of quality white wines worthy of consumer attention. Tel: (503) 538-3652; www.adelsheim.com. Also tasted: 2006 Pinot Gris (86), 2006 Auxerrois (85), 2006 Chardonnay CH (85), 2006 Pinot Blanc (89), 2006 TF (86), 2005 Chardonnay”Caitlin’s Reserve” (90), 2006 Rose of Pinot Noir (89)

Dark red. Sexy oak spice-accented raspberry and kirsch aromas are enlivened by zesty minerality. Supple, fleshy red berry flavors are deepened by a hint of tobacco and given firmness by moderate tannins. The focused finish echoes the tobacco note. This is already complex and drinking well.
