Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2007-2018, Pierre Rovani, Aug 2004

From the Yakima Valley, much further west than the previous wine’s Walla Walla origins, the 2002 Sheridan Vineyard has a demure nose of plummy dark fruits. Produced from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc, 28% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot, this effort exhibits a lovely entry of satiny blackberries, cassis, cherries, and copious spices. Its deep, medium-bodied character is complex, awash in fruit, and reveals loads of tannin in its structured, yet long, finish. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. This winery, named after Chris and Annie Camarda’s nephew, Andrew, as well as son, Will, used to produce a bevy of Merlots and Cabernets from contracted vineyards. Recently, however, it has evolved towards the production of Bordeaux-style blends that reflect Chris’s perception of each vineyard’s terroir. Klipsun Vineyard, located in the Red Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area), remains the exception to Camarda’s newly found “meritage” philosophy. Tel. (206) 463-9227 www.andrewwill.com
