The entry level 2005 Pinot Noir is produced from 95% estate fruit. Medium ruby-colored, it has a fragrant bouquet of raspberry and black cherry. Medium-bodied, it has a lithe texture, a broad band of spicy, sweet red fruits, excellent balance and a pure finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years. Domaine Drouhin has been on a roll since the 2002 vintage. Dare I say it, the winery seems to be making better wine in Oregon than they are in France. Tel: (503) 864-2700; www.domainedrouhin.com. Medium red with a bright rim. Vibrant redcurrant, raspberry, rose and cinnamon aromas show striking clarity and are reminiscent of a wine from one of Burgundy's more elegant climats Spicy and sweet, with energetic red berry flavors deepened by suggestions of musky underbrush and tarragon. An elegant, tangy midweight, finishing on zesty notes of blood orange and minerals.
