Note di degustazione
The 2017 Pinot Noir Vivien is a section of the top four barrels in the vintage, and in 2017 it comes from the estate vineyard in Fort Ross-Seaview, Hirsch, Peay, and Occidental. A fabulous bouquet of blueberries, kirsch, spice box, incense and forest floor all flow to a medium-bodied Pinot Noir that offers tons of intensity yet still plays beautifully in the elegant, vibrant, classical style of the estate. It shows more floral notes with time in the glass. This attractive, seamless effort will be better in 2-3 years and cruise over the following decade. There are only 150 cases produced.

The 2017 Pinot Noir Vivien, a blend of barrels from Peay, Occidental, Hirsch and the Estate vineyard, is a promising, if embryonic, wine that needs time in bottle to be at its best. Rose petal, sweet red berry, wild flowers and blood orange give the wine striking presence and nuance. Gracious and yet deep, the 2017 Vivien is shaping up to be a gorgeous Pinot that captures the essence of the Failla house style.
