Made using 100% whole cluster, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Syrah 100% Whole Cluster Kenefick Ranch Vineyard opens with black cherries, crushed blackberries and black raspberries with dried herbs, lavender and peppercorns. The palate is medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, with a long pepper-laced finish.

A powerful, explosive wine, the 2016 Syrah Kenefick Ranch captures the essence of this Calistoga site. Tobacco, leather, smoke, black cherry and plum are all pushed forward. Muscular and dense, with terrific staying power, the 2016 is incredibly distinctive, not to mention flat-out delicious.
Completely destemmed and brought up in 25% new oak, the 2016 Syrah Kenefick Ranch (from a warmer site near Calistoga) is a ripe, sexy, gorgeous Syrah that offers loads of black raspberries, cassis, graphite, and ground pepper aromatics. It's medium to full-bodied, pure and elegant on the palate, with fine tannin and a great finish. It’s another great Syrah from Mike to drink over the coming decade.
