2013 Patz & Hall Pinot Noir Alder Springs Vineyard

Bright medium red. High-pitched perfume of rose petal, wild herbs and five-spice powder. Very dry and savory, communicating flavors of spices and exotic oak. Today the wine's fruit is in the deep background. Finishes with substantial, slightly drying tannins and exotic spices and herbs. I find this a bit parching and out of whack today--almost hard; will it round out with time in bottle? Hall told me that some of the seeds were still green at the time of harvest. (ST)
