Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2016-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jan 2016

The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru les Caillerets is more backward than the 2014 Meursault Rougeots at the moment, but there is enhanced mineral expression here, veins of flint and smoke infusing the citrus fruit, honeysuckle and a touch of jasmine. The palate is driven with salinity that makes you want to take another sip. There is something Puligny-like here, very focused and full of nervosité and urgency. Just a wonderful Meursault.

Rather sweet glucose sort of nose. Not that much tension – big and bold. Lots to chew on. Massive weight. Great texture and roundness. Long with a hint of milky coffee. (JR)

(aged in 30% new oak): Pale, bright yellow. Sexy, very ripe aromas of orange oil and musky, slightly gamey lees; clearly a wine from a sunny site. Fat, sweet and fairly low in acidity, conveying a distinctly creamy quality to its orange oil and zest flavors. Finishes sweet and long, but without the cut of most of these 2013s. Showing the exotic side of the vintage.
