Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2021-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, May 2023

The 2011 Meursault 1er Cru Les Caillerets offers up aromas of crisp stone fruit, ripe lemon and white currants mingled with notions of freshly baked bread and buttery pastry. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's racy, layered and concentrated, concluding with a long, saline finish. Coche did particularly well in the 2011 vintage, and his wines are still going from strength to strength while other producers' are tiring.

Pale, bright yellow. Peach and spicy oak on the nose. Sweet, fleshy and rather opulent, with a fine-grained texture and superb concentration. Very ripe but refined wine. Coche told me these vines suffered in the late June heat spike, but I don't find the wine obviously marked by heat. Aged in 30% new oak.

The 2011 Meursault Caillerets is intensely pointed and mineral, but today doesn’t have the sheer appeal of some of the other wines in the range. With a little air, the Caillerets fleshes out nicely, but it remains a wine of tension. Crushed rocks and bright fruit nuances linger on the close.

Quite a floral nose. More open than some with broad richness and a definitely floral note. Quite powerful. Racy but less tense than the Coche norm. Open and even a little sweet on the finish. (JR)
