Pale yellow color. Pungent, strict nose dominated by crushed-rock minerality. Then almost surprisingly silky and fine-grained, but with superb energy and lift to its tangy soft citrus and powdered stone flavors. Finishes a bit less tannic than the Enseignères, which gives this suave, utterly seamless wine early accessibility. These 60-year-old vines produced a tiny crop, as this vineyard, according to Raphael Coche, was at the epicenter of hail storms in 2012, 2013 and 2014 and will need a while to recover.

Domaine Jean-François Coche-Dury is one of the most sought-after names in Burgundy, famed for producing some of the most expensive white wines in the world. The demand for these fiercely collected wines far outstrips supply.
