Note di degustazione
Blackish crimson. Particularly deep colour. Distinctly warm nose, with a hint of brett? Savoury, bone dry, quite demanding without food but should be very refreshing. Marked acidity on the end. (JR)

Just before leaving Chile, the 2014 Aconcagua Costa Syrah was bottled, so I got to taste it next to the 2013. It was very interesting to see the two vintages together, as the style of the wine is the opposite as the general character of the vintage. This 2014 felt like a cool-climate Syrah with plenty of floral aromas and some hints of smoky bacon à la Rhône Nord, elegant and fresh while being full of character. The palate is medium-bodied with some grainy, slightly dusty tannins. This is a delicious Syrah, fresh and vibrant, elegant and easy to drink but with enough complexity to compete with much more expensive wines. Superb value for money. 10,300 bottles produced.
