Black cherry fruit is enlivened by a note of fresh green herbs and a certain airiness on the palate in the 2019 Cabernet Franc Hirondelle Vineyard. That sense of freshness is a welcome accent, lightening and making this medium to full-bodied wine more drinkable and refreshing. Smooth and silky from start to finish, it's a solid effort, drinkable now and for the next decade or more.

The 2019 Cabernet Franc Hirondelle Estate Vineyard is another full-throttle wine. As has been the case in recent years, the Franc is not especially varietal, but it does benefit from an extra kick of textural richness that balances the tannins and occasional edginess of Franc. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender spice and menthol meld into the dramatic, beautifully textured finish.
