Silky dark red fruit, spices, cinnamon, cloves are present in the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags’ Leap District. Crushed flowers and sweet red berries follow as the wine turns increasingly more floral and candied in the glass. As the same time, there is plenty of minerality and focus. If the 2009 has a flaw, it is that the super-ripe fruit blurs much of the Stags’ Leap character. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. wineclub@robertmondaviwinery.com
