Note di degustazione
The 2017 Pinot Noir Freestone Free James Observations Series aged 14 months in 35% new French oak, 20% new Austrian oak and 15% concrete. Medium ruby, the nose opens with toast, sweet spices, blood orange, strawberry and raspberry jam with notes of bark, dried herbs and tobacco leaf. It's light to medium-bodied, restrained and very spicy, with a surprisingly gentle frame and great freshness, finishing long and bright. This needs at least another couple years in bottle. 185 cases were made.

This is stylistically unique in the Kosta Browne range and has a very compelling array of darker-fruit aromas with a full array of rich, sappy, redder cherries, as well as a spicy edge. The sappy depth on the palate is striking. It has density with elegance with a vibrant line of acidity with really punchy appeal. The clarity of fruit here is really something. Such fresh acidity. A far-west parcel in a very cool location. This is the last bottling.
