Punteggio 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2008

Bright red. Explosively aromatic bouquet of dark cherry, blackcurrant, Asian spices, minerals and pungent flowers. This reminded me of a suave northern Rhone wine in its energetic display of spicy dark fruits, minerality and floral character. The tangy dark berry flavors coat the palate but betray no excess ripeness or weight. Silky, fresh and sweet on the finish, with the spiciness echoing. Lovely stuff.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2007-2012, Robert Parker, Dec 2007

A beauty, the 2006 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard exhibits sweet notes of raspberries, spring flowers, cherries, and strawberries. This subtly smoky/forest floor-flavored Pinot is made in a medium-bodied, feminine, elegant style. Enjoy this delicate but authoritative effort over the next 4-5 years. These wines were a remarkable discovery. Anderson Valley is becoming one of the “hot” new cool climate sources of not only white varietals, but also increasing quantities of high quality Pinot Noir. Breggo Cellars’ label pays homage to what used to be a robust sheep farming area, now replaced by grapevines. Winemaker/proprietor Doug Stewart is assisted by Ryan Hodgins, and together they have fashioned four brilliant white wines. Tel. (707) 895-9589
