The 2017 Trebbiano by Monteraponi opens to a saturated off-gold color with an oxidative bouquet that prizes caramel, butterscotch and candied peach. The bouquet shows additional layers of lemon preserves, dried apricot and toasted pine nut. It's a Trebbiano that wraps over the palate with thick texture and an unctuous approach that would work best next to smoked fish or baked cod. The wine's concentrated richness is more evident in this hot and dry vintage. This white should hold steady in the bottle as it ages over the next decade.
