Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2023-2043, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2020

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc that’s all from mountain vineyards (Atlas Peak, Howell Mountain, and Pritchard Hill), the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon sports a deep, saturated purple color as well as a powerful nose of crème de cassis and assorted blue fruits as well as lots of graphite, crushed rock-like minerality, violets, and dried herbs and sage. This is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated 2017 that has the vintage’s more austere, Bordeaux-like structure, present yet ripe tannins, solid mid-palate depth, and a great finish. Give bottles 3-4 years, and it should evolve gracefully for 20+ years.

Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2021-2042, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Howell Mountain, Pritchard Hill and Atlas Peak. It sports a deep garnet-purple color and offers up compelling scents of licorice, espresso, Black Forest cake and black olives over a crème de cassis and plum preserves core with a faint waft of wild sage. Full-bodied, the palate is laden with rich, decadent black berry preserves and savory notes, framed by ripe, firm tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and spicy. 225 cases were made.
