The 2005 Linne Calodo Nemesis has a fantastic nose of spice laced cassis and blackberry fruit aromas mixed with underbrush, spiced meat and subtle graphite notes. Very spice driven on the nose, this shows nice complexity and really didn't change much over two days. The palate is medium to full bodied and is all about texture and integration. Beautifully balanced, smooth, seamless, lush and yet still light on the palate, this is a joy to drink and maintains a sense of elegance and restraint. The finish is smooth and shows nice length.

(85% syrah, 11% mourvedre and 4% grenache) Inky violet. Powerful dark berry preserve aromas are a bit brooding but slowly open to show an array of herbal, floral and spice qualities. Chewy blackberry and blueberry flavors are firmed by solid tannins, picking up smoked meat on the close. Became sweeter and fresher with air but this isn't showing everything right now.
The 2005 Nemesis (which was still in barrel) reminded me of a 2003 Northern Rhone red Hermitage. A blend of 85% Syrah, 11% Mourvedre, and 4% Grenache, the wine exhibits blackberry notes with hints of road tar, truffle, and earth. Spicy, with fabulous layers of rich creme de cassis fruit, this broad, expansive wine has superb purity, a beautifully textured mouthfeel, and a long finish. It should evolve for a decade or more.
