From a site in the Santa Maria Valley next to the famed Bien Nacido Vineyard, Etude's 2020 Pinot Noir North Canyon Vineyard is a blend of three Dijon clones that spent 10 months in 25% new French oak. It's gently floral, offering a hint of beet greens and bright red fruit (cherries and cranberries). Medium-bodied, it's silky but crisp and tart on the finish.

The 2020 Pinot Noir North Canyon Vineyard is a pretty rich, heady wine that shows how compelling this vintage is in Santa Barbara. A blast of dark fruit, red cherry, plum, spice, leather and menthol are dialed up in this exuberant, forward Pinot. There's not a ton of subtlety, but I am not sure that matters much.
