2010 TOR Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard

The 2010 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard captures the essence of the cold year in its intense minerality. Today the aromatics are a bit reticent, but that may come with more time in bottle. Instead, the Hudson Vineyard convinces for its rich, intensely layered fruit and fabulous overall balance. This is a fabulous showing. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. This is a dazzling set of wines from Tor Kenward and his long-time winemaker Jeff Ames. Frankly, I could have spent an entire afternoon delving further into these fabulous wines. The 2009 Cabernets capture the best qualities of this refined, polished vintage, but the 2010s, which I tasted from barrel, are potentially even better. Tel. (707) 963-3100
