Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2014-2018, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Aug 2014

Starting out, the 2012 Cuvee Jeanne Marie Williamson Dore Vineyard is made from 83% Grenache and 17% Mourvedre that was aged 16 months in 2-and 3-year-old Hungarian oak puncheons. Medium-bodied, moderately textured and with pretty aromas and flavors of kirsch, underbrush and flowers, it ultimately lacks richness and depth. Drink it over the coming 3-4 years. I was blown away by these new Pinot Noir releases from Foxen, and they’re up near the top of the vintage. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same with regards to the Rhone blends, and these had superficial, mid-weight profiles geared for near-term drinking. As to the Bordeaux blends, these come from the eastern most AVA in Santa Barbara County and are labeled under the Foxen 7200 label. Tel. (805) 937-4251; www.foxenvineyard.com

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2014-2020, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2014

The Grenache-based 2012 Cuvée Jeanne Marie Williamson-Doré Vineyard is floral, lifted and very pretty. Bright red berries meld into perfumed notes in a forward, fruit-driven wine to drink in its youth, while the flavors remain alive and expressive. This is yet another superb, polished wine from Foxen. The blend is 83% Grenache and 17% Mourvedre.
