Note di degustazione
A blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier that spent 20 months in 80% new French and Hungarian oak, the 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard sports a deep purple color as well as notes of black fruits, charred earth, ground herbs, and pepper. Medium-bodied, nicely concentrated, and focused on the palate, it has ripe yet firm tannins, good acidity, and a great finish. It's tight, closed, and slightly compact, yet certainly has plenty of potential. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade.

Containing 7% Viognier, the 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard is deep ruby-purple with aromas of dried blueberries, dark chocolate, menthol, warm black cherries and blackberries plus notes of pepper. Medium to full-bodied, it gives up fresh blue and black fruits in the mouth with a firm frame of chewy tannins and great freshness, finishing long.
The 2016 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard Old Vine, Dry Farmed is one of the most compelling and arrestingly beautiful wines I have ever tasted from Foxen. Inky and explosive on the palate, with tremendous fruit intensity and fabulous balance, the 2016 is a real showstopper. Inky dark fruit, black pepper, lavender and sage build into the huge, explosive finish. The high percentage (75-80%) of whole clusters adds tremendous aromatic depth. There are just 180 cases of the 2016. If you can find it, get it!
