2009 Domaine Matrot Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru

The 2009 Meursault Perrieres blossoms on the palate with layers of rich, textured fruit. It shows gorgeous mid-palate presence and plenty of persistence. Crushed rocks and all things mineral frame the energetic finish. This is powerful, intense and beautiful. Anticipated maturity: 2014+. I found myself most attracted to the entry-level wines at Matrot. A number of the basic offerings are absolutely joyous, but the more important wines aren’t markedly more complex in my view.
