Note di degustazione
The 2017 Blanc is a blend of 63% Roussanne, 12% Clairette Blanche, 9% Grenache Blanc, 9% Marsanne and 7% Chardonnay aged in 20% new French oak. The nose opens with candle smoke, beeswax, charred orange peel, poached quince and stewed apple aromas with a savory current of wet hay and bark. The palate is light to medium-bodied with savory-laced fruits and a waxy, phenolic texture lifted by just enough freshness, finishing long. 330 cases produced.

Starting with the white, the 2017 Blanc is a rich, full-bodied blend of 63% Roussanne, 12% Clairette, and the balance Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Chardonnay. This beauty packs in serious amounts of buttered pineapple, white flowers, honeysuckle, and subtle toasty notes to go with a powerful yet balanced and beautifully fresh style on the palate. It has a little Hermitage Blanc-like style and is going to shine on the dinner table. The My Favorite Neighbor label is Eric Jensen’s new project focusing on Bordeaux varieties and more clay dominated sites.
