2016 Domaine Frédéric Magnien Charmes-Chambertin Les Mazoyeres Grand Cru

Medium red. Much more open on the nose than the Charmes-Chambertin, showing more evolved aromas of soil and game. Fatter and more open-knit on the palate, conveying more early volume and flesh but less definition and mineral energy than the Charmes. Finishes very broad and long, with supple, building tannins but not quite the whiplash of flavor of the Charmes.
