Glass-staining garnet. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes ripe dark berries, cured tobacco and vanilla, along with a building floral overtone. Sweet, seamless and broad on the palate, offering fleshy black currant and cherry-vanilla flavors braced by a core of juicy acidity. Rich yet energetic in style, showing solid closing thrust and smooth, well-knit tannins. 70% new French oak.

The 2019 Seventeen Forty Reserve is a blend of 66% Cabernet Franc and 34% Merlot. Made from free-run juice, it was aged for 20 months in 70% new French oak. Deep ruby-purple, it has aromas of wild berries, tar and bitter chocolate with savory and floral undertones. The palate is supple and approachable, with plush layers of Morello cherry and blueberry fruit, detailed spicy accents and a long, layered finish.
A Cabernet Franc-dominated blend (it always has some Merlot), the 2019 1740 Reserve reveals a dense purple hue as well as a thrilling nose of cassis, raspberries, flowers, vanilla, and spicy oak. With considerable elegance and purity on the palate, it's full-bodied and has a seamless, elegant texture, ripe tannins, and a great, great finish. It's guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
