2020 Frank Cornelissen Susucaru

The Frank Cornelissen 2020 Etna Rosso Contrada Campo Re CR is born in a site with very deep topsoils located at the extreme perimeter of the Etna DOC confines. Frank Cornelissen laments that this is certainly not the easiest place to farm grapes (especially in hot and dry vintages like 2017). These results from 2020 show a lot of fruit character and dark cherry concentration with hints of curry leaf, mint, oregano and some of the wild herbs that grow on the volcano. The tannins are softly integrated and the acidity is bright. Mineral nuances add complexity.
