2016 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru

(just 1-1/2 barrels made from 80-year-old vines in the middle of Rugiens Bas): Good medium red. The nose offers an alluring combination of higher-pitched raspberry and rose petal and deeper iron and earth tones. Densely packed and concentrated on entry, then sweet and complex in the middle, offering an enticing combination of fresh red fruits, flowers and soil tones. Very long on the finish, with the fairly substantial but ripe tannins arriving late. This suave midweight is harmonious from start to savory, ripe finish.
