Note di degustazione
Mike Officer says there’s a garrigue-like scent in the Rossi Ranch vineyard, between Kenwood and Glen Ellen planted in 1910. Organically farmed by Phil Coturri since 2013. Dark crimson. Exotic and rich. Pretty dry tannins on the end. Very pure. Complex and very ambitious in terms of ageing. (JR)

The 2013 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch is rich, dark and powerful, with gorgeous textural depth and plenty of mid-palate resonance. Dark red cherries, plums, earthiness, sage and tobacco add nuance on the plush, enveloping finish. This is the first year that Rossi Ranch was farmed by vineyard guru Phil Coturri.
The 2013 Zinfandel Rossi Ranch (15.8% natural alcohol) exhibits Rhône-like notes of wild strawberries, black cherries, garrigue, pepper, meat and charcuterie. Full-bodied, powerful, long and promising, it should drink well for 8-10 years.
