2014 Sojourn Pinot Noir Riddle Vineyard

The 2014 Pinot Noir Riddle Vineyard comes from another Sonoma Coast site in the Green Valley of West Sonoma, this one planted in Goldridge soils. This is a different clonal mix than the other wines, with some Dijon clone 115 as well as the Pommard, but in addition, the Mt. Eden clone. More floral and elegant, with some minerality, soft, supple tannins, and excellent red and blue fruits, this wine has a kinship to an Anderson Valley Pinot Noir or perhaps a premier cru from the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy. (I do believe the Mt. Eden clone often resembles Musigny, so that seems to connect the dots on this particular effort.) This is a gentle beauty, very refined, complex and polished. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
