Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2011-2021, Robert Parker, Feb 2011

For example, the 2007 Claret, a steal at $35, is outstanding. This dense purple-colored, elegant effort exhibits plenty of black currant fruit, licorice and cedar in an evolved, fresh yet fruity, medium to full-bodied style with ripe tannins. Drink it over the next 8-10 years although I suspect it will last even longer. The ever reliable Tom Dehlinger continues to turn out some of the most fairly priced wine in all of California. I’m glad to see he has added a tiny quantity of rose to his portfolio. As he said, it is his first “non estate” wine in 25 years. Dehlinger’s Pinot Noirs have an enviable track record of aging well for at least a decade even in challenging vintages. One does not generally think of the Russian River area as prime Cabernet Sauvignon territory, but in certain vintages, Dehlinger’s Cabernets can be amazing. Moreover, they sell for about 50% less than comparable Cabernets from Napa Valley. Tel. (707) 823-2378; Fax (707) 823-0918

(100% cabernet sauvignon) Deep, bright ruby. Sweet, inviting aromas of cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate and tobacco. Juicy and shapely, with good energy to the blackcurrant, bitter cherry and smoke flavors. Offers a suave blend of ripeness and lift and finishes with fine, palate-dusting tannins and very good length. An immediately accessible wine that's also balanced to age.
