Note di degustazione
Moderately intense aromas of sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with minerals, smoke, and spice box are followed by a well-balanced, harmonious wine with excellent richness, sweetness (from glycerin), and a spicy, soft finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.

The 1998 La Croix de Gay has a more opulent bouquet with dark plum, cassis, chanterelle and truffle scents with good vivacity and breeding. The palate is medium-bodied with a chalky texture on the entry, very good weight and fruit intensity as it moves into its secondary phase of dark cherry, pomegranate and dried orange peel notes with just a touch of hardness on the finish. Hopefully, this will soften with time, so leave this in the cellar for five or six years. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note take from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin.
