Note di degustazione
Softened ruby red, tawny-pink around the edges, this is majoring on leather, tobacco and smoked earth notes, some undergrowth with a touch of brett. This is charming but very much in its drinking window - although it should stay here for another decade. Alain Raynaud winemaker.

The 2005 La Croix de Gay is floral and nicely lifted with a core of red berry fruit, blood orange, spice, cinnamon and mint that adds nuance. La Croix de Gay is not a big wine, but it offers terrific persistence and plenty of vibrancy, all in a super-appealing, mid-weight style. Drink it over the next handful of years.
Tasted blind. Not much nose. Thick, dusty and a little sour on the end. Just a tad over-extracted. (JR)
A sexy wine from La Croix de Gay, open-knit, round, juicy, with plenty of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with some mocha and caramel, this fleshy, soft, fully mature Pomerol will continue to age well for another decade.
