The 2019 Chardonnay Arey Vineyard opens with waxy, citrus-tinged aromas of yuzu curd, lemon balm and macadamia nut. The palate is richer than the nose leads on but with great verve and tension. While the finish is a bit singular, this is quite enjoyable and improves with air. This is an instructive, early look into a producer with great promise.

The 2019 Chardonnay Arey Vineyard offers up hints of sage, crushed rocks, mint and white pepper. The intensely mineral, savory style works quite well. Bright acids pull it all together on the close. This light-bodied Chardonnay has plenty to offer.
