Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2019-2029, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is the most refined wine I have tasted from Chris Tynan's own label. An expressive bouquet proves to be a striking counter to the dark flavors in a Cabernet that balances power with the energy that is the single most identifiable attribute of the 2014 vintage. The 2014 is the most complete of the Tynan wines thus far.

Punteggio 100/100 · Da bere 2022-2062, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2017

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard is just as good (as the 2013), but in a much different style. Where the 2013 is primordially and inward, the 2014 shows the more supple, sexy style of the vintage, yet doesn't lose a beat with regards to density, depth, or length. Think of these two wines as comparing a First Growth Bordeaux from 2009 versus 2010. This heavenly juice offers a liquid rock-like minerality in addition to fabulous notes of cassis, currants, scorched earth, charcoal, and flowers. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated, perfectly balanced and with ultra-fine tannin, it has a finish that won't quit. As with the 2013, it needs 2-4 years of cellaring. These are two off-the-chart efforts from winemaker Christopher Tynan, and they’re certainly some of the greatest young wines I’ve ever tasted. The ship may have sailed, but if you don’t know who Christopher Tynan is, now’s the time!

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard reveals earthy, broody scents of dried herbs, warm blackberries, black cherries and chargrill with savory/earthy notions of truffles and yeast extract. The full-bodied mouth shows great concentration with firm, grainy tannins and a lively herbal lift. It should age wonderfully.
