An outstanding wine, the 2006 Beckmen Vineyards Grenache Purisima Mountain Vineyard has complex aromatics of licorice infused herbs, black cherries, leather and subtle meat notes. It’s medium bodied with lots of textured fruit. The wine maintains nice poise and edge, coming across as silky, balanced and long. This should deliver lots of pleasure over the next 5 to 8+ years.

While an excellent wine, the 2006 Grenache Purisima Mountain suffers in comparison with the brilliant 2007s. Nevertheless, it will offer plenty of pleasure for several years. Copious quantities of kirsch and licorice as well as wood spice and underbrush emerge from this soft, richly fruity, medium to full-bodied, attractive Grenache.. This winery, which has extensive holdings on one of Santa Ynez’s finest viticulture sites, Purisima Mountain, continues to build on an already impressive resume of wines.
